Message
 We had a great turnout for the June General Membership meeting at Riverside Terrace. At least 70 people came and enjoyed a great lunch. “Doc Griffin” Scholarships were awarded to two deserving young men by Linda Griffin. Eric Nagy and Mike Blackford were the two winners this year. Eric will be starting his second year at Purdue, and Mike will be a freshman at Ball State University.
We also had a great turnout for our Builder and Developer meeting. Sixteen builders attended. We discussed ways to make our annual Builder Showcase events more exciting and consumer-friendly. I sure need to thank all builders that attended. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, July 15th at 8:30AM at the HBA office. If any other builders are interested please join us, we welcome all the input we can get.
Our Associates Council and Education Committee are busy planning for 2009 already. The Associates Council plans our General Membership meetings. If you are interested in becoming a part of this dynamic group, call Brian Housand, the chairperson (574) 295-9500, or the HBA office. The Education committee works very hard to plan interesting, educational seminars for our membership. If you have any seminar ideas, or topics you’d like to know more about, call Don Reber, chairperson, at (574) 243-9246, or the HBA office.
Don’t forget to sign up early for the annual BPAC golf outing, taking place on July 22nd at Juday Creek Golf Course. This is always a great opportunity to bring your co-workers for a round of golf, and enjoy networking with our members. We also are looking for hole sponsorships, so call the office if you want to get involved in this great event.
